Is Second Edition a thrift store or a consignment shop?
Second Edition is a consignment boutique for pre-owned designer fashion in Scarsdale, NY. Like a thrift or second-hand shop, every piece has had a previous owner, but each one is hand-selected, inspected and priced by our team. You will find pre-loved women's and children's clothing, handbags, shoes and accessories, from contemporary labels to luxury designers.
Do you sell designer and luxury brands?
Yes. Second Edition carries everything from accessible European labels like Maje, Sézane and Ba&sh up to top-tier luxury, including Chanel, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Dior, Gucci, Bottega Veneta and Balenciaga. Our most coveted pieces live in our Wonder Room, a curated luxury collection inside the boutique.
Is everything you sell authentic?
Yes. Every item is reviewed in person by our team, who check invoices, authenticity cards and craftsmanship details. Every luxury handbag is also authenticated with Entrupy, an independent authentication service used by resellers worldwide. If you ever receive a counterfeit item from us, we refund you in full and cover return shipping.
Do you carry Louis Vuitton?
Yes, when it comes in through consignment. Louis Vuitton is one of the most searched luxury brands, so pieces sell quickly. Follow us on Instagram @secondeditionny or check the website often to catch new arrivals.
Do you sell children's clothing?
Yes. Alongside our women's collection, we carry girls' and boys' clothing, baby clothing (0–24 months), children's shoes and accessories.
Can I shop online or only in the store?
Both. Our collection is available at secondeditionny.com, and you are always welcome in our boutique at 1 Chase Road in Scarsdale Village, Monday to Saturday, 11am to 5pm.
What condition are your items in?
Every piece is inspected before it goes on sale, and each listing notes its condition, such as New with Tags, Excellent, Very Good or Good, with any relevant details.
Do you offer returns?
Because every piece is one of a kind, all sales are final, unless you receive the wrong item (see our Return Policy). Please contact us before you buy with any question about fit or condition; we are happy to help by email or in person.
Consigning with us
How do I consign my clothes?
Email us at contact@secondeditionny.com with photos of your pieces. Our team will review them and let you know what we can accept and how to bring them in.
What do you accept?
Women's and children's clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories in excellent condition, from European contemporary labels to luxury designers. We do not accept fast fashion.
How much do I earn when something sells?
You earn 50% of the sale price, with no hidden fees. We handle photography, pricing and selling, both in the boutique and online.
How do I track what is selling?
Every consignor has a personal online account with real-time access to their items and sales.
What happens to my items if they don't sell?
At the end of each season, unsold items priced under $50 are donated. Items priced $50 and above are bagged for you to pick up in the boutique; anything not picked up within two weeks is donated. With hundreds of consignors, we are not able to return items mid-season.
Why consign instead of donating or selling yourself?
Your pieces find an appreciative new owner, you earn from them, and you support a small, locally owned Scarsdale business. Every piece resold is also one less item in a landfill.

Who runs Second Edition?
Second Edition was founded by Isabelle, who brings 20 years of experience in luxury retail with houses including Dior and Gucci. The boutique team is French and passionate about fashion.
Why does sustainability matter to you?
Overproduced fashion often cannot be recycled and ends up in landfills. We believe beautiful clothing deserves a second life, and we connect consignors with shoppers to keep it in use.
